Maria Distefano:

She didn`t know yet but she wanted become illustrator since she was an young lady.

Maria Distefano was born in Naples in 1965, where - thanks to her father passionated to Art and History - she started to drew her first jobs.

Very soon, Maria discover in herself a real passion for all is magic and phantastic. That`s why she studied in an artistic high school and started to work as graphic for ads.

In 1989 she went to live in Venice. One day, a big gift gave to her a path to follow: the drowings of an artist, Arthur Rackam. Thanks to that, Maria decided to follow a cours of illustration and watercolour.

She liked tales for kids and youg people and she became a magnet for phantasy stories.

Since then, Maria illustrated a lot of books and participated to a lot of international competitions, winnings awards and acquiring honors.

In Italy and abroad, Maria partecipated to many exibitions.

Maria lives near Venice, with Corrado, two wonderful daughters born under the hot sun of Ethiope, and a grey cat whose name is Guidobaldo.
